Was actually quite fun! Mike's brother Brian, his wife Patti, and their boys Christopher (5) and Justin (1 1/2) came to visit last weekend. We spent an oddly very COLD morning at the airshow (Have you ever been cold at an airshow in May in West Texas? Aren't we usually paying big bucks for water and ice and trying not to get sunburned?), and then went out to Abilene State Park to camp overnight. This was the first campout for my kiddos and Justin - Chris had been before. We really had a great time! We love hanging out with Brian and Patti, the kids enjoy each other, and no one fell in the campfire - a plus! We did not have a burn ban - unusual around here - so we got to cook hotdogs and toast marshmallows. We tried s'mores - the kids were excited by the idea, but when it came down to it... there were foods touching each other. The marshmallows were a big hit, though. Austin and the girls went right to sleep in the tent (well, Austin did after he pretended to snore for awhile...). And we went on a couple of hikes, including some geocaching. One was a night hike - they needed darkness and flashlights to find reflectors to point the way to the cache. Very exciting for the big kids! (You can decide who they are!) All in all, a good time, and we'll definitely do it again soon!
