The Cave

For history this year, we are using a program by Winter Promise (http://www.winterpromise.com/) called Hideaways in History. We will study people from ancient times through modern day, and our program includes many hands-on activites to engage my young learners. The highlight of each week is the "hideaway" - we will be making lots of large structures out of boxes to play in and learn about history. I am so excited to have Austin participating at least a little bit in our school this year. Who can resist crawling into a big box? This first week, we studied cave-dwelling people and nomads, and the kids made their own cave and painted "cave paintings" inside. Here are a few pictures of their creation:
